I am 56 and had been wearing glasses since I was 12 or 13 years old. I wore them continuously until about 10 years ago and then began to wean myself gradually. About a year ago I could go no further on my own and started working with a teacher. After only one session with her I stopped wearing my glasses at all, except for driving at night in new areas where I needed to read street signs. Since the third or fourth session I have never worn them again and don’t expect to. I feel confident I’ll pass that driver’s license renewal test without them.

Not only has my clarity increased dramatically and stress decreased, but almost more importantly the quality and possibilities of seeing have changed in ways I didn’t anticipate. I also learned how to use my eyes so that my vision is continuing to get better from day to day.

I have taken lessons on and off for a few years. The work has impacted more than just my eyesight. The sessions can be both relaxing and educational. I feel like I’m learning to see naturally again – as I did when I was a child; allowing images to come to me vs. using my eyes as utilitarian devices.
