This was a very enlightening weekend. The mixture of verbal and experiential instruction was excellent. I am already less sensitive to bright light.

Elizabeth Abraham

Elizabeth founded the Vision Education Centre in Toronto in 1991, where she teaches private lessons and workshops in Holistic Vision Improvement. She also teaches workshops and speaks at conferences and other events around the country. She has been a guest on many radio and TV shows.

Elizabeth initially became interested in vision education in 1989, when she decided to learn to improve her own eyesight and reduce her dependence on the contact lenses and glasses she had been wearing for over 30 years. She began her training as a Vision Educator with Meir Schneider at the Center for Self-Healing in San Francisco. She is continually expanding her understanding of how to move toward greater clarity, and her extensive interest in vision care has taken her to work with many renowned teachers in the United States, England and India.

Prior to her work in Vision Education, Elizabeth maintained a private practice as a Trager practitioner. Coming from a background of dance and movement re-education, she is able to help her students release physical tension - particularly in their eyes, neck and shoulders.

Elizabeth is also certified as a Focusing Trainer, and finds the Focusing work of Eugene Gendlin invaluable in understanding the underlying causes of the emotional stress that often impedes clear vision.

Focusing, her studies in Educational Kinesiology, and her experience as a mother and grandmother, prove to be of great benefit in her ability to understand and facilitate change in her students and in herself.

As well as exploring the fascinating and multi-faceted subject of Holistic Vision Education, Elizabeth loves playing with children, dancing the Argentine tango, walking on the beach, traveling, and studying French.

Elizabeth is a member of the Association of Vision Educators and the Focusing Institute. She is also a co-founder of the Vision Educator Training Institute. See more about training to become a Vision Educator on the Vision Educator Training Institute page of this website.
